Waterford Health Park is a multi disciplinary primary care medical facility conveniently located on Slievekeale Road, Waterford city Across from Walsh Park GAA grounds. There will be an emphasis on continuing education and training, to ensure all staff are up-to-date with best practice, therefore providing the highest standard of care. Maypark House Nursing Home & Rockshire Care Centre have confirmed today that the challenges presented in operating a small, family-run nursing homes are proving unsustainable and they have taken the very difficult decision to cease operations. In a statement to WLR News today, the family say they made the difficult decision to close due to HIQA's "unrealistic expectations of small nursing homes". Physiotherapists provide individual person centered plans to optimise independence and function. We have several areas where they can comfortably spend time with our residents, and can also enjoy our gardens and the residents’ kitchen. Our spacious and welcoming living areas are complemented by bedrooms filled with natural light – all combining to create a beautiful environment for our residents.

The nursing homes run by the Dwyer family have been in operation for over 40 years. They provide accommodation for up to 38 residents in each nursing home and have taken great pride in providing person-centred care to hundreds of people from Waterford, South Kilkenny and the surrounding area. “The prospect of closing the doors for the last time will be devastating for all involved. It has been a genuine honour and privilege to be entrusted with caring for all our residents alongside our dedicated staff who have and will continue to provide exceptional care,” the spokesperson said. One of the most energy efficient new buildings in Waterford City - consisting of a Convent and Care Home for Religious Sisters, in addition to their Residential / Communal Residential Use - the the Little Sisters of The Poor Ferrybank also provides 22 No. Residents enjoy visiting local areas of interest such as coffee shops, favourite lunch spots, concert halls, historical sites, libraries etc. Mealtimes are a relaxed part of each day, with lots of time for chat and socialising.

This facility straddles the Waterford/Kilkenny boundary and provides accommodation for 80 elderly persons . We represent the vast majority of nursing homes in Ireland, and they’re all listed here. The local Ferrybank Allotments project and Top of the City garden project have shown the kind of resilience that working on a green area to grow one’s own vegetables and seasonal flowers can have. Both have been taken up in large numbers by older persons and have been accredited with fostering friendships, teaching new skills and adding new areas of bio diversity to our urban areas.
