Waterford news round-up of 2022
The nuns in the little sisters of the poor have been to the forefront in providing care to the elderly across Waterford for generations now. I know this first hand, from when, as a child, I visited elderly relatives in their former premises just off Bunkers Hill. In recent years their Christmas Spinner and Summer Garden Party are amongst the highlights of the calendar in the area each year. Planting can begin now and hopefully as their creations bloom, it becomes a source of pride for them as we enter into Spring. This is a long term project and I look forward to a whole host of Ferrybank Flowers in the future.
This has resulted in both unit types having an additional family space next to the kitchen. A new distributor road through the site will link the development to the main Waterford to New Ross Road. The development will provide quick access to the M9 Motorway and Belview Port Industrial estate that avoids morning traffic delays. This offers great connectivity to surrounding urban centres such as Kilkenny, Carlow, Wexford, New Ross & Clonmel, which are less than 45 minutes’ drive away. A new planned greenway will further connect the development to North Quays and Waterford City by a dedicated pedestrian and cyclist route.

Helping you return to health –Our convalescence care can assist you with recuperation and recovery after surgery, or illness. At Rockshire Care Centre, we pride ourselves on giving exceptional care for both long and short term Residents, who are convalescing or are just in need of a peaceful holiday. We are also approved by all major Health Insurance providers for convalescent care. The contact details and website for each nursing home are provided so you can decide which ones are suitable and how to contact them for more information and possibly arrange a visit. It is hoped other organisations and projects will follow the lead of St Joseph’s and reassess their open green spaces to promote the positive well-being which can be achieved from such endeavours. “Our focus will now turn to our Residents, their families and our staff as we navigate this period of transition together and we ask that their privacy is respected”.

MANAGEMENT of Maypark Nursing Home and Rockshire Care Centre have confirmed today that they will be ceasing operations at their two nursing homes, one on Maypark Lane on the Dunmore Road and the other on the Rockshire Road in Ferrybank. As a resident in SignaCare, we will work with you and your family taking into consideration your choices regarding your care. Our aim is to promote your optimum health, happiness, and independence during your stay here.

The Little Sisters of the Poor first came to Waterford in 1868.They rented a house at 3 Adelphi Terrace.They remained there until 1874 when they moved to Manor Hill.
